MUA Mega Volume Mascara vs Benefit They're Real!

First of all, I am sorry I haven't posted in ages! I have had exams and a lot of stuff going on but it's now half term (yay!) I will hopefully be posting a lot more. So anyway, on with the post!

Now, as you can see, the packaging is very different - one is very nice and classy, the other is... not so classy.
I love the benefit's 'they're real' mascara's case. It is classy, simple, chic and not too large; perfect to put in your handbag. Whereas the MUA Mega Volume mascara's case is cheap, tacky and very young. But, you are only paying £3 for the product, and Benefit's is a hefty £19.50.

As you can see from the photo's above, 'They're Real' has fewer bristles on the brush than 'Mega Volume's'. There's not much more to say than the brush on 'They're Real' is much sturdier.

Firstly, 'Mega Volume' gives a more natural effect on your eyelashes, so I would say that it would be better suited as a daytime mascara. I also quite like the way it coats my bottom lashes as it's not so heavy. The downfall is that it is quite a dry consistency, also it makes the white of my eye a little itchy and bloodshot. Whether that is just me, or it happens to everyone, is another matter.
But, it is safe to say that 'They're Real' is a much better quality mascara, which was to be expected.

But it is safe to say that 'They're Real' is miles ahead, as was expected. I have had this mascara a while (it's not past it's use by) and it's not even started to dry which is a bonus seeing as you wouldn't want to fork out that much money every month! It covers my lashes nicely, adding volume and thickness. The only thing is I think it is more of a evening mascara, at least on me.

They both stay on all day and don't smudge (unless you really wipe your hand over them) even though neither of them are the waterproof formulas.

Overall I would buy 'They're Real' from Benefit, but if you can't afford it, 'Mega Volume' is ok, not the best but not the worst.
