Maybelline FitMe Concealer

I purchased this a couple of months ago and I personally think it is ok, it's not amazing, but it's not terrible.

It comes packaged in a plastic, long, lip-gloss like tube with a doe-foot applicator, which is functional for a while but you can tell that it's not the best quality. It opens, shuts and is secure - your concealer won't leak out onto all of the other makeup in your bag which is always a plus. But as I have had it for a while (I wouldn't say a long time, but I haven't owned it for a day and used it once) I can tell you the packaging is really not great in the long run.
The lid has cracked slightly at the base, not all the way through but it's getting there. Also, there is a block of black colour where the lid meets the bottle and this has slowly rubbed off on my fingers as I have used this. And this is quite annoying as you have to wash or wipe your fingers because they will be black.

Now onto the actual product!

As you can see, it does it's job and I quite like the product under my eyes, although I do use another slightly creamier concealer on top.
I like to use this under my eyes as it just opens up and brightens the area (I use shade fair 15), and I also like to use it by the corner of my nose to reduce the redness. But I don't like to use this on my spots as it clings to every hair on your face. Now I'm not saying I have a hairy face as I don't! But, it just accentuates the tiny invisible hairs so that they are visible. It also creates a coating over them that you can actually peel off - how? I don't know. It may have something to do with the fact that Maybelline call it their first 'gel' concealer, but to me it's more of a thicker liquid.
So overall I would recommend it to someone who wants to cover dark circles but if spots are your main focus I wouldn't recommend it unless your skin is baby smooth!

MUA Mega Volume Mascara vs Benefit They're Real!

First of all, I am sorry I haven't posted in ages! I have had exams and a lot of stuff going on but it's now half term (yay!) I will hopefully be posting a lot more. So anyway, on with the post!

Now, as you can see, the packaging is very different - one is very nice and classy, the other is... not so classy.
I love the benefit's 'they're real' mascara's case. It is classy, simple, chic and not too large; perfect to put in your handbag. Whereas the MUA Mega Volume mascara's case is cheap, tacky and very young. But, you are only paying £3 for the product, and Benefit's is a hefty £19.50.

'They're Real'

'Mega Volume'

As you can see from the photo's above, 'They're Real' has fewer bristles on the brush than 'Mega Volume's'. There's not much more to say than the brush on 'They're Real' is much sturdier.

'Mega Volume'

'They're Real'

Firstly, 'Mega Volume' gives a more natural effect on your eyelashes, so I would say that it would be better suited as a daytime mascara. I also quite like the way it coats my bottom lashes as it's not so heavy. The downfall is that it is quite a dry consistency, also it makes the white of my eye a little itchy and bloodshot. Whether that is just me, or it happens to everyone, is another matter.
But, it is safe to say that 'They're Real' is a much better quality mascara, which was to be expected.

But it is safe to say that 'They're Real' is miles ahead, as was expected. I have had this mascara a while (it's not past it's use by) and it's not even started to dry which is a bonus seeing as you wouldn't want to fork out that much money every month! It covers my lashes nicely, adding volume and thickness. The only thing is I think it is more of a evening mascara, at least on me.

They both stay on all day and don't smudge (unless you really wipe your hand over them) even though neither of them are the waterproof formulas.

Overall I would buy 'They're Real' from Benefit, but if you can't afford it, 'Mega Volume' is ok, not the best but not the worst.

You Rebel Lite Benefit

So today I have a review on the You Rebel Lite tinted moisturiser from benefit, and I am ever so sorry about the lighting in the photos but the British weather has been against photo taking as there have been rather a lot of May showers!
Anyway... As you can see from the photo above, I have used this rather a lot, taken it on a plane and carried in in various bags, so obviously it is not looking at it's finest. But if you look at it on the upside, I can give you a real review of something that has been used, not just sampled
You Rebel Lite is a tinted moisturiser that claims to be a foundation, moisturiser and an SPF15 all in one. And it contains: Aloe, for it's soothing and moisturising properties; Vitamin A, to fight signs of aging; Vitamin E, to protect your skin from free radicals.

Yes, it is rather scary (to me anyway) when applied to your hand as it is rather... yellow/orange, and considering this is the lite version was a shock when I first opened it. But please don't be scared off! It really doesn't come off like this on your face at all.

So, as you can probably see, this evened out my skin tone a little, but my skin isn't terribly blemished anyway and that is the main reason I don't wear a full on foundation. It also brightened my skin, especially under and around my eyes. It's a light coverage and it gives a natural look.
Overall I like this product and might repurchase although it is a tad on the expensive side!

MUA Trio Eyeshadow - Innocence

My latest purchase has been the MUA trio eyeshadow in Innocence as I am on the search for nudes that won't eat my money up entirely!

As you can see, they are very wearable colours that will go with pretty much anything and won't scream 'I have no clue how to apply make-up' if I mess up - phew! The packaging isn't particularly sturdy, but what can you do when it costs you £2.50? I am not moaning, as the shape of the actual eyeshadow makes up for it. Yes, I know that sounds sad, but I have a slight preference to rounded shadows. Why? I don't really know, I think it's the satisfaction that you get when the dome slowly decreases in height - and yes, that made me sound even more sad. It does come with a brush but I really don't think that I will use it as they are the tiny foam blobs on the end of a stick. But, if you don't have any other brushes they will work still, that's just my opinion.

Here are the colours swatched. My finger furthest to the left is the eyeshadow on the top right on the last photograph, which is a lovely golden colour that is heavily shimmered, but is not that much like the colour in the palette. It is quite a bit lighter and less of a champagne colour.
My middle finger is the bottom right eyeshadow and is a very useful colour for your tear duct, or just a base to your eyeshadows - but it is extremely pigmented on your fingers so you wouldn't need a lot!
Finally, the colour on my right finger is the eyeshadow to the left, this isn't so pigmented but I don't think it needs to be as it is so dark.
All are shimmery, and the consistency is ok... It isn't horrible and is very good for the price.

So, here's what they look like on your eyes! This is what the golden eyeshadow look like and as you can tell, the pigment isn't as great when applied to my eyelid, but is still a really nice nude.

This is the white, which I think is an extremely pretty colour, not so much on it's own but when a colour is applied on top it looks very, very pretty.

This is the final eyeshadow, and I must admit, I am not so keen on this. It completely changes colour when on my eyelid and turns to a orangey/terracotta colour which, in my opinion doesn't suit  my skin tone all too well, but if you have a darker/warmer skin tone it will probably look a lot better.

I then put them all together and wall-a! Altogether a very pretty nude trio, and I highly recommend trying this - but put them together as they look a lot better!

'Feelin Dandy' from Benefit

'Feelin Dandy' by Benefit
This is a set I was given for Christmas last year and I really like the natural look it gives me. I am not so keen on bright colours as I am quite pale and feel that all you see is the eyeshadow and not my eyes or face - which isn't a great look!
So there's me make-up less, and I chose to show you this kit on bare skin, not foundationed skin so that you can see what it looks like if you had the kit and no other make up aha!
This is the inside of the kit - which I think is really good value for you money as it only costs £25.50 for four benefit items. The kit includes:
- 4ml Posietint sample
- 4ml High Beam sample
- 3g Dandelion Powder
- 6.5ml Ultra Plush Dandelion Lip Gloss
Okay, first I applied the posietint.

So this is me with the posietint, not a lot of difference to my cheeks but adds a little pop of colour. I do quite like posietint but you have to rub it in quickly once it is applied to your skin. Otherwise you will end up with three streaks if pink across your cheek bone which isn't that attractive. Whether or not I'd purchase posietint, well... I'm not sure, it would be nice but definitely not a necessity.

Yet again, not a lot of difference once I have put the dandelion face powder / blush but I really like it. I must admit, blush scares me a little as I don't want to scream 'I'M WEARING BLUSH!' and a lot of blush does that on my skin. But this is so, so pretty and subtle that I'd definitely repurchase it.

There we go! This photo shows the blush a little more but moving on! I have now added the high beam which I rather like. It's so pretty and shimmery without being too in your face. I have rather a lot of high beam as I have been given a couple of Benefit sets that contain it. By the way I realise an earing just magically appeared!
Last but by no means least, dandelion lip gloss. It doesn't add much colour and definitely isn't my favourite lip gloss but it is very pretty in the set. So...
The finished result, it's not a massive difference but pretty for younger people or those who are starting out with make-up, or even those who just don't like to wear loads.

LUSH Green FUN Review

Hello!

I am, as you will probably realise due to the lack of posts, new to the blogging community! I am going to base my blog mainly on reviews on beauty style things, I am a person and yeah... I hope you enjoy reading my posts, which I hope to add one or two a week as I have study work to do unfortunately :( My first blog will be on LUSH's Green FUN. Thanks!

LUSH - Green FUN

I recently placed an order with LUSH and, as a sample, I received their Green FUN. Their description on the product is:
'A citrus burst of tangy lime and lemon essential oils will wake you up, keep you feeling fresh and help you play for hours.'
As you can probably tell from the description given by LUSH, it has a citrusy smell to it, but it is not too overpowering or sharp. Although it has a strong lime smell, the undertone to it is quite sweet and not sour at all. It is simply a very nice, fresh smell which, unlike some of LUSH's products, I don't believe it could become sickly.
The colour is a bright green - and I mean bright! To some people, this feature may put some shoppers off, but LUSH tries to replace synthetic ingredients with natural ones wherever possible, therefore 5/6 of the ingredients in Green FUN are natural.
LUSH claim that you can use it as modelling clay, shower gel, shampoo and bubble bar. I tried each of these methods with the product and I think it works best as modelling clay and a bubble bar. I just didn't think it lathered well enough to be used as a shower gel or shampoo.

Although, the bubbles it produced was really good for the size of the piece used (around 1/4 to 1/5 of a whole bar). It produced a thin layer of bubbles over the whole of the bath water with more and more bubbles the nearer to the tap adding up to about 5" at it's deepest point. It also turned the water a lime green, much like the product before it is wet, but not quite as strong. Another thing is that although the smell is lovely in the bath, unfortunately it does not stay on the skin.
